Zenbanx Selects Black Duck Hub to Secure and Manage its Open Source
Burlington, MA – December 22, 2015 – Zenbanx, whose mobile-first, multi-currency account enables its customers to exchange currencies, hold them in the account until needed and send money domestically and internationally for a set low fee, has selected Black Duck Hub to secure and manage its open source software.
Black Duck Software is a global leader in automated solutions for securing and managing open source software. Its Black Duck Hub identifies and inventories open source application code; maps the inventory to known security vulnerabilities and provides detailed open source license information; and constantly monitors the inventoried code, issuing alerts when new vulnerabilities are discovered.
Like most organizations world-wide, Zenbanx utilizes open source software to lower its development costs and speed time to market. The company also sought to insure that it had both the visibility into and the control over its open source to mitigate security concerns and promote management ease.
“There are clear economic and development agility benefits from using open source, but as with any software, there are security risks, so we looked for the best way to safeguard our data. We researched several alternatives of course, but selected Black Duck Hub because of the depth of information we obtain about our open source inventory, both from a license standpoint and in terms of our potential vulnerability risk,” said Jim Joyce, Senior Vice President, Technology at Zenbanx.
Additionally, Zenbanx said that Black Duck Hub’s ability to constantly monitor its open source inventory and issue alerts when new vulnerabilities are found also was a factor in its decision.
“The best companies do very careful due diligence when selecting solutions to help them protect their data and allow them to be proactive in remediating vulnerabilities,” said Bob Canaway, Black Duck’s Chief Marketing Officer. “It’s encouraging that we emerged on top in that process. Zenbanx was clear in their criteria and fortunately Black Duck Hub is able to deliver what they need.”
Zenbanx is a financial technology provider that offers mobile, multi-currency accounts through relationships with regulated financial institutions.
