Black Duck Software is the gold standard for open source due diligence audits, participating in 600 M&A transactions per year. We are seeking an energetic professional to join our Black Duck On-demand team. Your job will be to generate qualified prospects for sales to close and to assist the sales team working deals. Success in the BDR role requires a hunter-mentality with significant time on the phone following up on leads generated from marketing programs as well as research and independent prospecting.  The role will be based out of our Burlington, MA office and will report to Vice President & General Manager of On-Demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to and follow up with respondents from a variety of marketing programs to initiate conversation, learn current business programs and qualify potential business applications
  • Rapidly respond to inbound inquiries
  • Execute outbound “cadences” to systematically get the attention of researched prospects and law firm contacts
  • Identify key targets through research and initiate contact with appropriate suspects, leveraging research resources to create intrigue, assess their current business methods and position Black Duck offering
  • Set rep appointments for further discussions and provide solid prospect background
  • Assist sales reps with moving deals through the process as needed including customer contact, contract preparation and logging progress.
  • Track all activity thoroughly in our CRM system to support account and management teams, validate activity and lead qualification reports,

Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree and a minimum of 1 year business experience in sales is preferred
  • Maturity combined with eagerness to learn
  • Experience conducting business and building relationships in phone & email, with excellent phone, interpersonal, verbal & written capabilities
  • Organizational skills and experience successfully managing multiple priorities simultaneously, maintaining a high-volume pace
  • Over-the-top motivation and creativity to successfully reach prospects and create conversations. Professional persistence & ability to “think on your feet.” 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, Salesforce.com and internet navigation
