During an automated code scan and analysis, code matches are found. We employ multiple methods for discovering and identifying FOSS. This chart shows an example of a match.
Example: Code match to Nifty Corners Cube component This file matched against the GnuWin32 component. Black Duck's methodology for discovering FOSS does not depend on matching license text, an approach that often fails as developers don't always copy license text when re-using FOSS. The files in this example, with the exception of the copyright at the top, were identical.
